COVID-19: Spain records highest death toll with 913 in 24 hrs

KATHMANDU: Spain has recorded the highest death toll due to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures collated by the Worldometer, as many as 913 people died in Spain as of Tuesday morning, taking the total to 7,716.

Similarly, 7,845 new cases appeared in a single day taking the total to 87,956. Of them, 16, 780 have recovered after treatment.

In Spain, the condition of 5, 231 among 63, 460 people undergoing treatment is critical.

According to Johns Hopkins University, a total of 3, 304 people have died in China where the novel virus first broke out. Italy has the highest death toll with 11, 591 people.

A total of 37, 637 people have died due to coronavirus globally so far.
