62 Nepalis arriving at TIA sent to quarantine in Kharipati

KATHMANDU: 62 Nepalis who arrived from different countries by air have been taken to the quarantine set up at Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) training center in Kharipati, Bhaktapur.

They had arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Saturday.

Nepal has announced the closure of all international flights from March 22 to March 31 and barred entry of all foreigners.

Earlier, the government had banned the entry of foreigners from COVID-19 hit countries.

Meanwhile, a Scottish national admitted to the Teku-based Shukraraaj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital in suspicion of being infected with COVID-19 has been discharged.

The 28-year-old Scottish national was discharged on Friday after he tested negative for the virus.
