COVID-19: DAO asks people to avoid public functions, gatherings



KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu has asked people to refrain from organizing or participating in festivities or public celebrations, including Holi to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The DAO Kathmandu, issuing a statement on Thursday, urged people to avoid public gatherings such as assemblies, festivals, and fairs due to the viral outbreak of coronavirus.

”As the World Health Organization (WHO) has placed Nepal under a vulnerable zone to the virus, we urge one and all not to attend or hold any public gathering,” the DAO notice said.

The government has already urged people to avoid public gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus.
