Update: Wife of ex-Secretary Karki declared dead in hospital

LALITPUR: Wife of former secretary Arjun Karki, who was found unconscious and covered in a pool of blood at her home in Sanepa today, was declared dead as soon as she was taken to the hospital.

Muna, the wife of former secretary Karki, was found in a critical condition at her house, police said.

She was declared dead after she was taken to the Sanepa-based Star Hospital on Monday.

Muna has sustained a major injury on the head while her domestic helper Bijay Chaudhary was found hanging when police reached Karki’s residence.

Police, which has initiated an investigation, suspect that Chaudhary might have killed Muna and committed suicide by hanging.

Acting on a tip-off that the Muna was brutally attacked and was lying in an unconscious state, a police team has reached the site. “We are investigating the case,” SP Durga Singh told Khabarhub.

Secretary Karki told the police that he had gone to Pashupati and found both of them in a gruesome condition upon his return.

A joint team from Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur and Metropolitan Crime Division, Kathmandu is carrying out an investigation into the case.
