REBAN to organize Valentine’s Day food festival in Sauraha



CHITWAN: Regional Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) said it is organizing a food festival on the occasion of the St Valentine’s Day in Sauraha of Chitwan from February 11.

All preparations for the ’14th Sauraha Food Festival’ have been completed, it said adding that the festival will see 40 food stalls.

Likewise, the festival will also have an exhibition of local, foreign cuisine, local art, culture, and attire.

The festival, REBAN said, is aimed at promoting the local tourism, according to festival coordinator Dhruba Giri.

He informed that the restaurants and hotels will provide a 15 percent discount while tourism entrepreneurs are offering a 30 percent discount during the five-day festival period.

Other events include the Mayor Cup volleyball tournament, waiter race, women’s musical chair, love letter writing competition, tug of war, a balloon burst game for children, inter-school dance competition and street drama among others.

Organizers said 75 percent of income generated from the entry fee collection will be contributed to the ongoing International Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium.
