Search resumes for trekkers missing in Annapurna avalanche



POKHARA: A search for seven trekkers including four Korean nationals missing in an avalanche in Annapurna region some two weeks ago has resumed.

According to Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, a team of experts has been sent to the incident site following improvement in the weather.

A search team headed by mountaineer Dhawa Sherpa has been deployed to search the missing trekkers.

Chairman of TAAN, Pokhara Chapter Hari Bhujel informed that the 25-member search team has reached the incident site.

They are missing after being struck by an avalanche in northwest Nepal on January 17. The search for the missing trekkers has been suspended time and again owing to bad weather.
