KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Bhimarjun Acharya has said the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)’s statement that it could not take action due to the lack of proper policy is wrong.

Posting his views on social networking sites, Acharya said formulating policies and taking decisions are two different issues.

The Council of Ministers had not formulated policies but decided to take action on those involved in transferring the ownership of the Lalita Niwas, said Aharya.

Hence, the anti-graft body’s statement that it could not take action against the accused due to lack of policies holds no truth, Acharya said.

He further said that CIAA should not have given room for people to raise questions on its impartiality and credibility.
