Coronavirus death toll reaches 427 globally

KATHMANDU: The death toll from coronavirus has reached 427 as of Tuesday. Of them 425 have died in China alone.

As many as 180 cases of coronavirus have been detected in the people outside China, with one death in the Philippines.

World Health Organization (WHO) has already declared coronavirus as the global health epidemic.

On Monday alone, there were 64 new deaths, all in Hubei, China’s National Health Commission said.

On Tuesday, Hong Kong confirmed its first death from the coronavirus. The deceased is 39-year-old man who had visited Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak, on 21 January.

An additional 3, 235 people were infected with the new virus on Monday . With the new cases, total of infected cases have reached 20,438 people.
