CHITWAN: National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has highlighted the need for diversification in education.

In his address to the golden jubilee of Shahid Smriti Secondary School at Bharatpur metropolis-6, Parasnagar Monday, he noted the need for classifying education as per the interests of students.

Claiming that contemporary education was for producing unemployed people, NA Chair asked the teachers to lay emphasis on quality delivery.

There is a need to review the proportion of human resources produced by today’s education and its employability, he asserted. It needs to review why educational quality is dismal despite teachers’ recruitment on merit basis, he further said.

Chair Timilsina also said that the state-run schools are not being able to deliver results through state contributions to education are higher than that of the private sector. Today’s education should be focused on advancing entrepreneurship, he said, laying emphasis on technical education.

Local donors were felicitated on the golden jubilee of the school in recognition of their assistance to the school.
