CIB launches investigation against 41 manpower agencies for amassing illegal wealth



KATHMANDU: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has launched an investigation against 41 manpower agencies for amassing illegal wealth.

The Bureau started investigating properties of manpower agencies and their proprietors for amassing wealth illegally while sending Nepali migrant workers to foreign lands.

CIB has already written to the Office of Company Registrar to make available share investment of the manpower agencies and details of the proprietors.

DIG Niraj Shahi declined to comment saying that the issue is being investigated.

Remittance is a major pillar of Nepal’s economy. Nepali migrant workers sent home $8.1 billion in 2018, making it the 19th biggest beneficiary of funds sent by migrants around the world, according to a report released by the World Bank.

Foreign jobs aspirants are mostly swindled by manpower agencies. The Bureau swung into anti-money laundering operations against them following heaps of complaints.

Manpower agencies facing investigation are Trends World Manpower (Pradarshani Marg), International Manpower Recruitment (Gwarko), Blue Overseas (Tokha), Khoji Recruitment Services (Sanepa), All Secure Manpower ( Sinmangal), Sanjog Overseas (Tinkune), United HR Solution (Koteshwor), Nirmal HR Solution (Chakrapath), Shristi Overseas Employment Service (New Baneshwor), Goodwill International, Happy Nepal Employment (Basundhara), Tiger Overseas (Dhumbarahi), Vertex HR (Chabahil), Omega International (Pingalasthan), AV Associates (Maharajgunj) and Pangeni Human Resources (Samakhusi).

Likewise, Sadhikshya Overseas (Samakhusi), Mass Human Resources (Gongabu), Liberty HR Consultant (Mahalaxmisthan), Sherpa International Manpower (Samakhusi), Thaiba Rise Management (Anamnagar), Prisma Overseas Employment (Lazimpat), Choperasi International (Tokha), Growth Process International (Basundhara), Al Sama International Employment (Tinkune), Dos Link (Samakhusi), Appolo Overseas Services (Samakhusi) and Bigyan HR Management (Chappal Karkhana) are under investigation.

Similarly, CIB is investigating properties of World Manpower INC, De Proten Manpower Suppliers (Gaushala), Lal Dhanus International Service (Battisputali), International HR Solution (KMC-8), Imperial Overseas (Singamanagal), Raj Overseas (KMC-33), Jasmine Overseas, Avinash International (Basundhara), Al Harim Manpower (Chappal Karkhana), Liverpool HR Solution (Swoyambhu), Hi-Tech HR Solution (Maitidevi), Tilicho Overseas (KMC-9), Naj Overseas (Basundhara) and G & P International Overseas (Basundhara).
