House construction for squatters begins



CHITWAN: The Ichhakamana rural municipality in Chitwan said it would construct cemented houses for landless squatters.

The rural municipality will build houses for 46 landless families in Ichhakamana-7, Bhalumara Sundarbasti.

Chairperson of the rural municipality Geeta Kumari Gurung laid the foundation stone of the houses.

She said that the municipality is constructing houses for those who have been living in huts.

According to her, the plan is to construct an integrated settlement by building houses with toilet and drinking water facilities.

Ward 7 chairperson Bam Bahadur Thapa said that 35 among 46 households in the settlement are from the Chepang community while others are from Tamang and Dalit communities.
