KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended greetings to the Gurung community at home and abroad on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar, the Gurung community’s New Year festival that falls on Paush 15 each year.
The President has wished for happiness, peace, mutual harmony and prosperity to the community and all Nepalis. The President further mentions that the Gurung community has played important roles in tourism promotion by preserving the country’s cultural heritages.
She said that the Gurung culture has remained as an important entity in the national cultures of our country, which is multilingual, multi religious and multi-cultural. She also said that the national festivals like Tamu Lhosar have helped promote the aspirations of brotherhood, mutual love and unity among all Nepalis.
This festival of Gurung community would encourage all to build economically and culturally a prosperous nation by boosting mutual goodwill, the President said in her message.
