KATHMANDU: Works to fix potholes in the Kathmandu Valley’s major roads have gained momentum.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang had earlier directed the Department of Roads to restore the damaged roads at the earliest.

Since then, Minister Nembang has been making on-site monitoring of the roads in Kathmandu.

In course of his regular schedule, Minister Nembang had carried out a field inspection in the Kalanki-Nagdhunga road section on Saturday.

During the inspection, he instructed the authorities concerned to fix the potholes, and keeping the traffic operational.

Lawmaker Krishna Gopal Shrestha from Kathmandu constituency-9 and Prime Minister’s Development Management expert Gajendra Thapaliya had accompanied Minister Nembang.

According to the Division Road Office in Kathmandu, works have been expedited at New Baneshwor, Tinkune, Old Baneshwor, Naxal Bhagawati, Thapathali, and Kapan areas.
