KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal told the parliamentarians of his party that NCP would not accept the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) if it turns out to be Indo-Pacific oriented.

Addressing the party’s parliamentary meeting on Friday, President Dahal said, “Provided it turns out to be Indo-Pacific oriented as it has come in the news, the party will not accept it (MCC).”

He, however, added that his party would have no problem to accept it if the MCC is meant for peace and development.

Informing the MPs that the issue was under discussion in the party’s Standing Committee, he added that they would be informed about the formal decision once the Standing Committee makes a decision.

Meanwhile, speaking at the same meeting, Pradip Gyawali, Minister for Foreign Affairs, clarified that MCC was not a part of the Indo-Pacific Strategy.
