KATHMANDU: The government has formed a committee to probe recent Sindhupalchok accident that claimed the lives of 15 passengers.
The committee is headed by Joint Secretary Rajendraraj Sharma at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Traffic Police and public transport entrepreneurs are members of the committee.
The committee has been given seven days to submit the investigation report.
15 pilgrims were killed when a bus heading to Bhaktapur from Kalinchok of Dolakha met with an accident on Sunday.
Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had directed the ministers for home and minister for physical infrastructure and transport and the officials from both the ministries to immediately unveil plans of action to reduce road accidents.
