KATHMANDU: Mahabir Pun has been honored for his special contribution to social empowerment of people with the innovation of wireless technology that eased the communication in rural areas of the country.
The Excelsior School at Swayambhu, Kathmandu, honored Pun with cash prize of Rs 50,000 amidst a program on Friday.
The prize was given also for the assistance to boost the National Innovation Center set up by Pun. At the program, Pun inspired school children to adopt technology for entrepreneurship and industry in future. “How long do we produce skilled human resource for others? It’s time to produce innovative persons for the country,” he stressed.
School Chairperson Shital Rana and Principal Prashant Rajak expressed happiness over the opportunity the School got to honor innovator Pun and committed to extending assistance to his Innovation Center in future as well.
