KMC to remove hoarding boards

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is set to remove hoarding boards put up in different parts of Kathmandu by breaching the rule.

KMC has expedited the action of removing the hoarding boards as per the court order.

A case was filed at the Supreme Court against the KMC for not removing the materials, including posters, advertisement hoarding boards, and wall paintings from public places.

KMC Spokesperson Ishwor Dangol said a seven-day time was given to the concerned institutions on Monday to remove the materials.

He warned that the KMC would take necessary actions against the ignorant if they did not remove the boards within the stipulated time.

A divisional bench of the then chief justice Kalyan Shrestha and justice Om Prakash Mishra had four years ago issued an order to remove pamphlet, poster, wall painting from city house, wall, roof, electric poles, and road dividers and to take preventive measures to not allow the re-use.
