23 held for gambling from private home in Dhulikhel



KAVRE: The Kavrepalanchowk District Police Office, Dhulikhel has arrested 23 people on the charge of gambling.

Acting on a special tip-off, the group was caught red-handed in the wee hours today from a private home at Dhulikhel municipality-9.

The police squad headed by District Police Chief Superintendent of Police Jay Raj Sapkota arrested them with cash of Rs 957,870 and a set of kaudas (seashells). They had already undergone medical tests and are presently in police custody.

Police are due to seek time from the district court today for further investigation against the arrested.
