HETAUDA: State-3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel has monitored the 25-km Bhimpgedi-Ipa road and Nijgadh-Kathmandu expressway.
The Bhimphedi-Ipa road is being constructed through the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). Chief Minister Poudel reached Bhimphedi, Kogate and Ipa Panchyakanya among other areas in course of the on-site monitoring of the under-construction roads. On the occasion, he also inspected the area where the feasibility study was done to construct a tunnel highway under the aegis of State-3 government.
The chief minister expressed happiness over the under construction of wide and sustainable road along Bhimphedi-Ipa stretch. He said the new road could be used as an alternative to Kathmandu-Hetauda road. Chief Minister Poudel instructed the contractor company to complete the road to be constructed at the cost of Rs 260 million within the stipulated time.
The construction of the road had begun a year back. According to the contract, the road should be built within 18 months since its signing. Bhimphedi rural municipality chair Hidam Lama said vehicular operation could be made along the Kathmandu-Ipa-Deurali road section once the constructi8on is completed. “Locals of the rural municipality would be benefitted in a multiple way after the construction of the road section”, he added.
