Minister Nembang to expedite infrastructure construction projects



KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang has expressed his commitment to giving impetus to the works and functions of hus ministry which us related to building a prosperous Nepal.

Newly-appointed Minister Nembang said this while assuming his office at the Ministry today. He said the Ministry would lay emphasis on fulfilling the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali,’ by correcting the past shortcomings.

Talking briefly to journalists at the Ministry, he vowed to make appropriate policy, forward the existing policies and programs and facilitating in addressing any exiting problems.

He said he was aware of a multitude of problems like the poor shape and dusty condition of roads at various places including in Kathmandu, stressing that he would work towards resolving the problems at the earliest.

He also stressed that he would take appropriate decisions on topics like the works and activities carried out by the Department of Roads, the Department of Railways and the Department of Transport.

“Some policies need to be made regarding the waterway while some policies related to the railway have been made. These are projects of national importance and it is necessary to take ahead all these works in a speedy manner,” Minister Nembang emphasized. He also pined that many things have improved much compared to the past and they need to be continued ahead.
