JHAPA: The Armed Police Force (APF) has installed GoPro cameras at Kankarbhitta, along Nepal’s eastern border, to strengthen surveillance and help curb criminal activities.
The APF’s No. 2 Battalion Headquarters in Jhapa said the initiative is aimed at collecting vital information and improving the transparency and effectiveness of criminal investigations by providing direct visual evidence.
Superintendent Sachin Karmacharya said the two newly activated cameras are expected to help control illegal smuggling, theft and other criminal activities in the border area.
The increased use of technology for border surveillance has also contributed to a greater sense of security among local residents, who have welcomed the APF’s efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.
