KATHMANDU: Although authorities raised the alert after reports of increased flow in the Bhotekoshi River in northern Rasuwa, there is currently no risk of major flooding, according to the Flood Forecasting Division.
According to the latest information received from the District Police Offices in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, the river’s water level has risen slightly in the Nuwakot area, but remains within the normal range.
The Division, in an update issued this morning, said there is currently no risk of major flooding in the riverside areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
Earlier, an alert was issued for riverside areas after reports of a significant rise in the Bhotekoshi River’s flow this morning. Although the situation has returned to normal, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and security agencies are continuing to monitor the river’s water level.
