Minister Pokharel calls for investment in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Iswar Pokharel on Wednesday reiterated his call to the investors of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to invest in Nepal.

Stating that the security of investment is guaranteed legally in Nepal, he said that the Government of Nepal does not discriminate between domestic and foreign investors.

Pokharel, who is on an official visit of the UAE, met with the Chair of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry today and informed the latter that there has been an investment board led by the Prime Minister to facilitate investment in big projects.

“Tax rates have been reformed, and special economic zone set up,” he said adding that a facility has been ensured to take returns from investment in foreign currency,” he added.

Minister Pokharel also urged for support in decreasing the trade deficit by increasing import of pashmina, agro products, ornaments and other goods from Nepal.
