RASUWA: Preparations for the annual Janai Purnima fair at Gosainkunda, one of the district’s most renowned pilgrimage destinations, have begun in full swing.
For this year’s fair, which will be held on August 30, local hoteliers are constructing waiting sheds and toilets, arranging accommodation facilities, and transporting essential food supplies such as rice, lentils, oil, salt, and spices.
According to Renjan Nima Tamang, president of the Gosainkunda Route Hoteliers Association, more than 25 hotels along the route from Khanti Deurali, Dimsa, Chandanbari, and Lauri Binayak to Gosainkunda are carrying out preparations at a rapid pace.
To ensure that pilgrims do not face accommodation difficulties, more than 200 Tharpu (temporary tents) are being constructed. Meanwhile, Langtang National Park has requested hotel operators to arrange toilet facilities in every Tharpu.
