KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man for allegedly sharing the question paper of a Master of Business Studies (MBS) first-semester examination in WhatsApp groups.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police said 33-year-old Sandip Singh, a permanent resident of Ghodaghodi Municipality-11 in Kailali who is currently living in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1, Bhaktapur, was arrested on Friday.
According to the CIB, Singh has been charged under the Education Act, 1971 (2028 BS) with breaching the confidentiality of examination question papers.
Police said the question paper for MGT 515: Organizational Behaviour, part of the MBS first-semester examination held on July 24 (Shrawan 8), was circulated in several WhatsApp groups. Singh was arrested in Madhyapur Thimi during the course of the investigation.
The CIB said further investigation is underway.
As examinations for other MBS first-semester subjects are still ongoing, the bureau urged the public not to engage in any illegal activities involving the leakage or disclosure of examination papers or other confidential materials.
Police also warned that anyone found leaking or distributing confidential examination documents would face legal action in accordance with the law.
