BIRGUNJ: A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident that occurred at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj on Saturday.

Relatives of 45-year-old Rajkumar Patel of Birgunj Metropolitan City-25 staged a protest after he died while undergoing treatment in the hospital’s emergency ward, alleging negligence by doctors and the hospital administration. The hospital has removed five health workers involved in the patient’s treatment from their duties pending the investigation report.

Deputy Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the District Police Office, Parsa, Kishor Lamsal, said the committee would submit its report within a week. He added that necessary action would be taken against those found responsible based on the findings of the investigation.
