KAVREPALANCHOWK: A total of 89 passengers stranded in five microbuses in the Roshi River along the BP Highway were rescued overnight after rising water levels left the vehicles stuck midstream.
According to District Police Office Kavre DSP Rabin Bista, a joint team of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force carried out the rescue operation, safely evacuating all passengers.
The incident occurred on Monday when the microbuses became trapped between the riverbanks in the stretch between Laskot and Charhund Besi in Roshi Rural Municipality-9.
After hours of effort, rescue teams managed to evacuate the passengers and vehicles by around 1:00 am and sent them onward to their destinations.
