Kathmandu witnesses heavy rain, snowfall

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley is receiving heavy rainfall since early morning today. The freezing cold compounded by snowfall has forced Kathmanduites to stay indoors.

Various parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley had received rainfall along with hailstorms in some parts of the country yesterday. Manag and Mustang districts witnessed snowfall.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), Kathmandu, this winter is receiving more rainfall compared to the previous years due to the westerly wind.

There is a sudden change in weather due to westerly wind that entered Nepal last Saturday. This rain will continue until Sunday, according to MFD.
