Harka Sampang heads to Darchula to build bridge through voluntary labor

KATHMANDU: Chair of the Shram Sanskriti Party and House of Representatives member Harka Raj Rai has set off for Darchula to construct a bridge through voluntary public labor.

Taking to social media on Monday, Rai announced that he was heading toward Darchula and called on citizens to join the initiative by contributing labor.

Rai, a former mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, has long promoted a “labor culture” campaign, encouraging community participation in development works. Even after entering national politics, he has continued to prioritize public involvement in infrastructure development.

“I’m heading to Darchula! Come join in building a bridge through voluntary labor,” Rai said. “We won’t rely on foreign loans—I’m on my way.”

Lawmaker Rai has consistently stressed the need to mobilize domestic manpower and local effort for development projects rather than depending on foreign debt.
