Pedestrian dies after being hit by jeep in Gulmi



GULMI: A pedestrian has died after being struck by a jeep in Chandrakot Rural Municipality.

The deceased has been identified as Tulsi Thapa, 55, a resident of Chandrakot-4, according to Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer at the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The incident occurred last evening at Ripaha when a safari jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1834) traveling from Chandrakot to Shantipur hit Thapa as Thapa was crossing the road.

Thapa was initially treated at a local health facility and then sent to Lumbini Medical College Pravas, Palpa, but succumbed to his injuries last night.

Police have taken the jeep and its driver, Jiwan Faudar, into custody.
