Arjun Narsingh KC assumes office at Parliament Secretariat



KATHMANDU: Arjun Narsingh KC, the senior-most member among those elected in the recent House of Representatives of Nepal election held on March 5, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

KC took the oath before President Ramchandra Paudel during a special ceremony held at Shital Niwas on Wednesday morning. Following the ceremony, he reached the Parliament Secretariat and formally assumed office.

Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, and Chairperson of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal were present at the ceremony, along with heads of constitutional bodies, chiefs of diplomatic missions, and senior government officials.

In the House of Representatives election, 165 members were elected under the first-past-the-post system and 110 through the proportional representation system. KC, a leader of the Nepali Congress, was elected through the proportional representation system.
