Penalty imposed on firm following market inspection



KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has taken action against a firm following a routine market inspection.

During monitoring carried out on Sunday, the department fined Mumbai JICA, located in Sundhara, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22, Rs 10,000 after identifying irregularities during an on-site inspection.

A total of 13 firms were inspected on the day. According to the department, action was taken against the firm in line with the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.

The remaining 12 firms were issued corrective instructions. The department stated that market inspections are being conducted in the presence of local representatives, consumer rights activists, and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and compliance.
