NDRRMA warns of heavy rain and snowfall today and tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Nepal (NDRRMA) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall, snowfall, and strong winds in different parts of the country today and tomorrow.

The authority has urged all citizens to exercise heightened caution, as adverse weather conditions may cause damage to life and property. People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors during strong winds, and ensure that windows and doors are securely closed.

NDRRMA also recommended turning off fire sources, stopping vehicles in safe locations, and moving calmly to secure areas in crowded places. During storms, residents are cautioned against staying near weak structures, tall trees, or under telephone and electricity poles and wires.

In addition, the authority advised people not to touch fallen power lines, avoid using electrical equipment, and maintain a safe distance from hazardous areas.

Considering the potential risks, NDRRMA has appealed to everyone to remain vigilant and take all necessary safety precautions.
