RSP instructs winners to refrain from victory rallies, celebratory parades

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has instructed its candidates who won the recent elections not to hold any victory rallies or celebratory events.

DP Aryal, the party’s Vice Chair and Coordinator of the Federal Election Management Committee, urged elected candidates to focus on their work rather than celebrating immediately. He emphasized that the responsibility entrusted by voters must be taken seriously, and now is not the time for festivities.

Aryal pointed to recent tragic events in the country and the tense situation in the Middle East as key reasons for calling off celebrations. He noted that lavish festivities are inappropriate amid the loss of young lives and global unrest.

Highlighting the public mandate to end corruption and ensure good governance, Aryal stressed that winners should prioritize fulfilling voters’ expectations. He instructed candidates to avoid ostentatious displays, such as flower garlands or car and motorcycle rallies, except for brief acknowledgments to well-wishers at counting sites.
