2,000 employees to be mobilized for elections in Tanahun



TANAHUN: A total of 2,000 employees will be mobilized in Tanahun for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) elections.

The District Administration Office said that election-focused human resource management has reached its final stage. Chief District Officer Shivlal Tiwari informed that government employees have been given first priority for appointment as polling officers and assistant polling officers, while teachers will be mobilized to address any staff shortages.

In addition, around 2,200 security personnel will be deployed to ensure election security across the district. Tanahun has a total of 254,397 registered voters, including 123,491 men and 130,906 women, according to the District Election Office. Among the district’s 10 local levels, Byas Municipality has the highest number of voters, while Devghat Rural Municipality has the lowest.

The district comprises two House of Representatives constituencies, with 136,118 voters in Constituency No. 1 and 118,279 voters in Constituency No. 2. The Election Office said that 144 polling stations and 309 polling centers have been established across the district.
