PM Oli calls emergency cabinet meeting

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister K P Oli has called an emergency cabinet meeting at 6:30 pm on Sunday.

This is the second meeting of the cabinet today – a continuation of the previous meeting held this morning, according to PM Oli’s Press Advisor Kundan Aryal.

Earlier today, the cabinet meeting had appointed cardiologist Dr. Bhagwan Koirala as Chairman of Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

A meeting of Council of Ministers held at prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Sunday had picked Koirala to the post.

As per the NMC Act, one person from amongst doctors having a minimum of 20 years experience as registered doctors with a master’s degree in medical science is eligible for appointment as Chairman of the regulatory body of the country’s medical sector.
