Earthquake tremor felt in Kathmandu Valley



KATHMANDU: An earthquake tremor was felt in the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday evening.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the earthquake struck at 7:24 pm with its epicentre around the Matatirtha area of Kathmandu.

The centre stated that the earthquake measured 2.9 magnitude.

As the tremor was of low intensity, no major damage has been reported so far.

Following the sudden shaking in the evening, some residents in different areas briefly came out of their homes. Many people also shared their experiences of feeling the tremor on social media.
