Kathmandu’s temperature drops to 3.5°C today

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley recorded its lowest minimum temperature since mid-January today (Wednesday). The Weather Forecasting Division reported that the temperature in the capital dropped to 3.5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am.

This early reading is preliminary, with the official minimum temperature scheduled to be confirmed at 8:45 am. Meteorologists warn that the temperature could fall even further by then.

With winter still ongoing, cold weather systems may lead to additional drops in temperature. Residents are advised to take precautions, particularly during the early morning hours.
