US Embassy Creator’s Mela 2026 starts in Chitwan

CHITWAN: Creator’s Mela 2026 started today (Saturday) at Hotel Siraichuli in Chitwan, marking the beginning of a multi-city initiative aimed at strengthening Nepal’s digital creator ecosystem.

The first-ever edition in Chitwan saw the participation of over 800 young and emerging digital creators. The day-long program featured parallel sessions across two halls, combining panel discussions, spotlight conversations, hands-on workshops, live performances, and the flagship Pitch to Success platform.

According to the US Embassy in Nepal, it is accelerating the growth of Nepal’s creative economy with the start of Creator’s Mela 2026: Vision to Venture. This year’s edition marks a bold evolution of the flagship platform, shifting the focus from content creation to building sustainable, professional businesses.

Speakers and performers at the Chitwan program included Priyanka Karki, Ayushman Joshi, Cabinet Shrestha, Anand Bagaria, and Sandhya KC, alongside creators such as 2B Gamer, Eva Giri, Shrishes Manandhar, Ekata Tandukar, Nepal 8th Wonder, and The K-OS. The program concluded with a live music performance by Yabesh Thapa.

Creator’s Mela 2026 will continue in Nepalgunj on January 24, followed by a two-day finale in Kathmandu on January 30–31, 2026. A centerpiece of the Kathmandu program will be Pitch to Success, where selected creators will pitch their business ventures directly to a panel of Nepal’s leading corporate executives for real-time feedback and mentorship.

The 2026 theme, Vision to Venture, is designed to bridge the gap between digital storytelling and professional enterprise. By integrating U.S. expertise in technology, platform monetization, and digital business development, Creator’s Mela provides creators with a practical roadmap to scale their influence into long-term careers and sustainable businesses.

“Creator’s Mela 2026 reflects the United States’ commitment to strengthening Nepal’s creative economy,” said Mike Harker, Public Affairs Chief at the U.S. Embassy Nepal.

“By enhancing knowledge, skills, and networks nationwide, we are supporting entrepreneurship and job creation. We are positioning Nepali creators not just for local influence, but for success with American business partners and in global markets, fostering deeper economic ties and shared prosperity.”
