Investment-friendly environment being enabled through law amendment: Minister Gautam

CHITWAN: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, said that an investment-friendly environment would be created by amending the laws.

In her address to the 35th annual general meeting of the Chitwan Associations of Industries here today, she said that legal amendment would be made timely as administrative hassles are being faced due to vague legal frameworks.

Stating that the industrialists and entrepreneurs have to face problems due to legal ambiguity, Minister Gautam said, “Administrative hassles arise when the laws are unclear. Now we are working to solve the existing problems by making the laws clear. “

She further clarified that they are constantly trying to create an investment-friendly environment in the country. Minister Gautam said that the government is making necessary preparations for this.

She informed that an extensive workshop was already organized in regard to what reforms should be made in the investment-friendly laws.

The minister stressed that the policy makers, bureaucracy, private sector and political sector should all work together for the formulation of investment-friendly laws.

Minister Gautam said that law-making doesn’t happen overnight, adding, “The problems you have faced so far have been lingering for years. To see improvements, the laws needed to be amended. We have finally reached the stage of amendments.”
