One killed, two injured in car accident



NAWALPARASI: One person was killed and two others injured in a vehicle accident at Ashram Chowk in Devchuli Municipality–11, Nawalparasi (Bardghat Sustapur).

The accident occurred last evening when a pick-up van (No. Ga 1 Ja 5930), traveling from Dharapani to Daldale, collided with a scooter (No. Ga Q 04-001 P 9106) coming from the opposite direction. Both riders on the scooter sustained injuries.

According to Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardghat Sustapur), 26-year-old Chetan Bahadur Khadka of Musikot Municipality–8, Rukum, who was currently residing in Devchuli Municipality–9, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The injured pillion rider, Narayan Pariyar, 21, of Devchuli Municipality–8, is receiving medical treatment. Police have taken the pick-up van involved in the accident and its driver into custody for further investigation.
