NEPSE rises 1.52 points



KATHMANDU: The NEPSE index gained 1.52 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,641.43. Market fluctuations remained generally stable throughout the day.

Trading turnover decreased slightly to Rs 6.2 billion from Rs 6.9 billion recorded the previous day. Out of the listed companies, 125 saw their share prices rise, 124 declined, and 11 remained unchanged.

Investors showed strong interest in the finance sector, which led gains with a 2.55 percent increase. Other sectors recorded mixed performance, with hotel and tourism, hydropower, investment, non-life insurance, and trading showing modest gains, while banking, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, and other sectors saw slight declines. Finance companies continued to dominate both in terms of price gains and market activity.
