Cricket coach Jagat Tamata appointed member of National Sports Council

KATHMANDU: Nepali cricket coach Jagat Tamata has been appointed as a member of the National Sports Council (NSC).

Tamata, who currently serves as head coach of Sudurpaschim Royals in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), is also a former national cricket team player.

With the new appointment, Tamata will now work within the country’s sports regulatory body, contributing to policy-level decision-making in Nepali sports.

A successful cricket coach, Tamata guided Sudurpaschim Royals to consecutive runner-up finishes in the Nepal Premier League. His experience as both a former national player and a coach is expected to strengthen cricket development initiatives at the institutional level.
