I am the one who stands up to those attacking Congress: Mohan Basnet

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Mohan Basnet has warned opposition party leaders and cadres against attacking his party, saying he would stand up to defend Congress regardless of whether he holds a position.

Addressing a programme organised by the rival faction of the Nepali Congress in Sindhupalchok, Basnet said he would continue supporting the party and contributing to employment generation even if he were not in office.

“Whether I hold a position or not, I am someone who has been creating employment opportunities to some extent. If opposition party leaders and cadres attack the Nepali Congress, I am the one who will put them in their place right there,” he said.

Basnet also said he would continue working for the development of the district regardless of his position.

“Whether I hold a position or not, I will continue working to bring development to this district,” he said.

Basnet made the remarks amid ongoing factional activities within the Nepali Congress.
