NC urges NA Chair to summon National Assembly session



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded that the session of the National Assembly (NA) be summoned at the earliest possible date.

A meeting of the NC National Assembly Parliamentary Party held Thursday took this decision, NC’s Chief Whip Krishna Bahadur Rokaya said.

The meeting held under the chair of NC parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula decided to urge NA Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal to summon the NA session at the earliest possible time in absence of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Rokaya said that the demand for the NA session was made as the NA is the only sovereign platform to raise public voices.

The meeting also condoled the demise of Constituent Assembly Members Ganesh Bahadur Khadka and Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav, NC former central committee member Dhundiraj Shastri, former NC district committee president of Baglung Govinda Prasad Sharma Kandel, former minister Achyutraj Regmi, former state minister Khadag Bahadur Basyal, former NA member Krishna Kumari Shrestha, leaders Rishikesh Gautam and Mohammad Aftab Alam.
