NEPSE inches up by 1.37 points, turnover declines



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index edged up by 1.37 points on Wednesday compared to the previous trading day, closing at 2,585.87 points.

Despite the slight rise in the index, total transaction volume declined. Trading turnover stood at Rs 3.22 billion, down from Rs 3.42 billion recorded in the previous session.

Out of the traded companies, share prices of 111 companies increased, while 142 companies saw a decline and seven remained unchanged.

All sectoral indices fluctuated within a range of less than one percent. Banking rose by 0.52 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.36 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.11 percent, non-life insurance by 0.87 percent, and trading by 0.27 percent.

On the downside, development banks fell by 0.85 percent, finance by 0.55 percent, hydropower by 0.29 percent, investment by 0.04 percent, life insurance by 0.07 percent, microfinance by 0.16 percent, and the ‘others’ group by 0.28 percent.
