UML General Convention: Voting still underway



KATHMANDU: Voting to elect new leadership at the 11th General Convention of the CPN-UML, which began at 9:00 am on Wednesday, is still ongoing as of Thursday morning.

UML Central Election Commission Secretary Dr. Kunsang Lama said it would take at least another hour to complete the voting process. “Around 2,000 votes have been cast so far,” Lama said, adding that voting is expected to conclude within the next hour.

Earlier, the UML Central Election Commission reported that 1,200 votes had been cast by 9:30 pm on Wednesday. A total of 2,263 delegates are eligible to vote in the UML General Convention.
