Woman dies after truck hits motorcycle in Balkhu



KATHMANDU: A woman injured in a road accident involving a truck and a motorcycle at Balkhu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–14, died during treatment on Wednesday.

According to Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi, the accident occurred when a truck bearing registration number Ga 2 Kha 2039 hit a motorcycle with registration number Ba Pra 02-061 Pa 5847.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Roshika Neupane of Nuwakot, who was riding on the motorcycle. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Vayodha Hospital, Balkhu.

SP Subedi said Neupane was critically injured in the accident this morning and died during treatment.

The motorcycle rider injured in the accident is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital. Police have taken the truck driver into custody and are carrying out further investigation, according to the traffic police.
