POKHARA: Gandaki state chief minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has said the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli-led government has been successful in enhancing the ties with two close giant neighbors.

In his address to a festival reception organized here today by the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Tahanu, the chief minister said the balanced foreign policy adopted by the NCP-led government had ended in the establishment of strengthened ties with the two big nations.

“Nepal which was being dominated by others for centuries has no such situation at present,” he said, adding, “Assumption that sovereignty, justice and independence should be established has been widely accepted for the first time.”

He went on to say that foreign perception towards Nepal had been changed.

Describing festivals as cultural heritages, the chief minister said the government was committed to protecting the cultural identities of all religions and castes.

Chief Minister Gurung, calling upon all to contribute for the promotion of cultural co-existence and national unity, said: “Festivals will inspire us to foster and promote social goodwill and religious tolerance.”
