Public holiday announced for Oct 30



KATHMANDU: The government has announced a public holiday for October 30 on the occasion of Bhai Tika to be celebrated on that day by the Newar Community.

A meeting of Council of Ministers decided to that effect.

The Newar Community in Kathmandu had been demanding a public holiday on Wednesday as the festival falls on the day as per their’s calendar.

Nepal Calendar Fixation Committee has fixed October 29 as Bhai Tika and a public holiday has been already announced.
